CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Scott Cline, a veteran umpire and crew chief of the 2024 Men’s College World Series, has been named Supervisor of Baseball Officials for the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Cline brings over 26 years of college baseball officiating experience across multiple conferences, including the ACC, Big Ten, and SEC. He has umpired in four NCAA Men’s College World Series, 10 NCAA Super Regionals, and 20 NCAA Regionals. His resume also includes assignments in the ACC Baseball Championship, 13 SEC Tournaments, and several other conference tournaments. Throughout his career, Cline has also served as a crew chief in the ACC, Big Ten, SEC, and several other conferences.
“Scott is one of the most respected umpires in college baseball and brings more than 25 years of experience to this important role,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “He has earned the trust of his peers, coaches and administrators and will provide strong leadership to our umpire program.”
As Supervisor, Cline will oversee the ACC Baseball Umpire Program, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and the development of a year-round training system to support umpires both during the season and in the offseason.
