ESPN’s College GameDay Headed to Pittsburgh

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – ESPN announced on Sunday afternoon that College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will broadcast live for the fourth time from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for Week 12.

The No. 24 ranked Pitt Panthers (7-2, 5-1 ACC) will host the top-10 nationally ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-2) on Saturday, November 15, at noon ET on ABC.

The Panthers and Fighting Irish have a long-standing rivalry on the gridiron, marked by a history of memorable games. The two squads last met in 2023, with Pitt’s last victory over Notre Dame coming in 2013 in Pittsburgh. The meeting will be the 10th in the series' history where both squads are ranked, and the first such meeting since 1991.

This will be the second time College GameDay has traveled to an ACC campus this year after broadcasting live from Coral Gables, Florida, in Week 4 as the then-No. 4 Miami Hurricanes knocked off in-state rival Florida, 26-7.

ESPN’s College Gameday kicked off the 2024 college football season in Ireland in Week 0 at the Aer Lingus College Football Classic between Florida State and Georgia Tech. It was the first time college football’s premier pregame show was broadcast outside of the United States. The show also made its first-ever trip to Berkeley, California, for Cal’s first ACC contest in Week 6 as the Golden Bears hosted Miami.

The show kicked off Week 1 of the 2023 season at Romare Bearden Park in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, on September 2, 2023, where North Carolina defeated South Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Classic inside Bank of America Stadium and also made its first-ever trip to Duke in Durham, North Carolina, on September 30, 2023, for a top-20 matchup between the Blue Devils and Notre Dame.

GameDay broadcasted from an ACC location twice during the 2022 season, emanating from Pitt on September 1, 2022, for the season opener between Pitt and West Virginia, and at Clemson on October 1, 2022, before the Clemson and NC State matchup.
